Weekly Photo Challenge: Zigzag (Tread)   20 comments

This photo challenge foregoes the straightforward in favor of the twisting and winding.

One never knows what one can find when traipsing down the old gravel/dirt road that passes my house. So, I grabbed my camera and went exploring, expecting to take photographs of the small wildflowers that line the road’s shoulders.

I was nearly back home, after taking many pics, when I spotted this zig-zaggy tread that I had been walking over the entire time. Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees. Well, anyway, here it is.

Comments are welcome.

  1. Certainly an unusual take on the challenge.

  2. I just love seeing the creative shots everyone comes up with – this is a great take on the challenge! Must always remember to look down 🙂

  3. Love your interpretation of this challenge. Funny how we usually don’t look down at the ground and notice what it’s made of, and what patterns are there. That path looks like a rough one. Hope you haven’t tripped on it 🙂

  4. creative 🙂

  5. Good find…I was a but stumped on this challenge and almost didn’t submit one, but like yours, mine steel support beam just unexpectedly appeared! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  6. That could have been easily missed. Nice capture and great powers of observation.

  7. Zigzag is so often “in your face” – this is a nice, subtle interpretation.

    • You’re right about that, and not just about zigs and zags. We often truly can’t see what’s right in front of us because we’re looking at the big picture, like the forest. A photo of a forest is beautiful to me, but getting down to the tree level is where life really begins. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  8. Amazing:) Things that we see but don’t really see.

  9. yuuup…the pattern is there..zigzaging indeed :)..happy friday..
