Living out in the boonies like I do, there’s never a shortage of abandoned stuff lying around. Here is just a small sample.
Comments are welcome.
You’re welcome to come visit my Barns! Barns! Barns! photostream in flickr where you can upload your own photos of old barns, farm houses and other related items. You can find it by clicking HERE!

I love old junked cars too…makes for artistic photos…love the colors in all of these. Thanks for stopping by my abandoned Detroit! 🙂
It’s always fun to get out and visit others’ photo challenges. Outside of my own ego (hehehehe), I enjoy visiting what other people have to offer. 🙂
The eggshells are fascinating – ?? Thanks for the visit and comment!
Thanks. The eggshells are numbered to separate the purebreds from the mixed breeds. 🙂

The eggs are my favorite…I’m glad that person asked about the numbers…interesting story behind them.
Glad to have you drop by and comment. I was rather surprised when I ran across them as I was wandering around in the woods. 🙂
Interesting that the eggs look numbered, I wonder why? And the square hole, was that to support a fence pole?
I can answer about the eggs. I found them while wandering around his property while he was working on my car. Well, I may have actually been off his property, as I don’t know where his property ends, as there are no fences. But the numbers are in reference to his purebred chickens, as he has both purebred and mixed breeds. As to the square hole, your idea is as likely to be correct as anything. It’s certainly reasonable. It’s fun to speculate about things one finds while wandering around in the woods. 🙂

A fair selection of abandoned items.
Thanks. It’s amazing what you can find roaming around in the wilds, although there’s not much wilds in NW MO, outside of the state parks, I mean. 🙂
Thanks for dropping by. 🙂
Great collection of images. Really like the egg shells. Very interesting.
Thanks. I appreciate that. It’s amazing what you can find when you’re out roaming around off the beaten track. 🙂
Pretty cool photos, Cris!
Thanks. I try, anyway. Yesterday, on my back from Iowa, I came across an old farm graveyard—not in the traditional sense—but a graveyard of old rusted out farm implements. I got a few snapshots off, but it was so cold, I wasn’t able to get more than three for four shots. I could have gotten a lot more, but my fingers were frozen. And one thing I’ve found—you can’t take good photographs with gloves on. At least I can’t. I’m going to have an abandoned part 2 sometime today. You’re welcome to take a peek. 🙂
That’s cool..Cris! I have walked in the snow with camera and gloves..I know doesn’t work well.I really like anything vintage. So much fun! I look forward to what you discover…
Will do. Just finished with my email, and have already uploaded my pics to my computer. I’m going to get right on it. Thanks. 🙂
Ok! Thanks!
Excellent subjects for the theme ‘abandoned’. Great prompts for a story or two.
Thanks. I’m just realizing that a lot of people enjoy closeups like these. I’m just not used to taking them. But I can see I’m going to have to change that. LOL
Lovely pics! I especially liked the egg. That square hole in the stone is trippy too.
Thanks. I appreciate that. I’ve wondered how old that stone is. I found it down near a stream close to a friend’s property, along with the eggshells, which once belonged to my friend but now lies abandoned. 🙂
Great choices!
Thanks. Sometimes I have a hard time focusing in on close things because I’m so scenic oriented. Glad you liked them. 🙂
Good examples of the theme, Cris. Was the last numbered eggshells?
Yes, they were numbered eggshells. My friend numbers them because, first of all, he has a lot of chickens; secondly, because he raises some purebreds.
So he wants to keep those separate. And thanks for dropping by.
Nice textures!
Yes, I need to do more close-up photography. Generally, I’m more scenic oriented. I sometimes forget that a lot of people like these kinds of shots.

I love taking photos of old rusted things or antiques. They speak of history without words.
This series of images is fantastic. I must admit the first one is my favorite.
Thanks for letting me know about your blog and for the ping back. Nice work !!!!
Isadora

Thanks for popping on over and following. I have quite a number of old barns on my blog. Take a look at the Table of Contents.
